I need a free host for testing my websites, I dont want to pay for a domain so need a sub domain, but all of them seem to have to make you buy a domain. Does anyone know of a free site with sub domain with little space, dont need a lot, and ads are OK. that I can use to test out my sites on.

The best low or no ad free hosting site I've found is FreeWebs.com.

To get rid of the floating blue logo that appears, just put one of their small recommended logos on each page tucked away where it's out of the way. Log into your account every 30-days to keep it ad free.

You don't have to set up one of their sites. You can set up your own pages and upload any images that go with them. Most people use the templates as they are easier, but you can design your own and host it. If you need more help, let me know.

For your own personal pages, just click the edit Icon and copy/paste your HTML code into it. For the index page, be sure to change it from index.htm to index.html as stated.

If you have images in a named folder, then just make a new folder with same name. Select it, and upload all your images to it.

For other HTML pages of your site, just upload them to where they need to go. Most will probably be in root directory along with the index.html file. You can edit your pages in your own local HTML editor, then log into your account to File Manager. Select the file to edit and click the Edit Icon. Just do a Ctrl+A and then paste the new file into same named page. Very easy. Just remember to save. :)

I really need to get back to fix mine up since I was playing with the site to answer some questions for someone.
