I've created my website using publisher and thought I was finally finished, that is, until I viewed the page and found it contained gridlines. Not sure where the heck those came from as I didn't intentionally put them in and they weren't there as I was editing/uploading numerous versions of the website this past week. I already tried Microsoft help (Arrange menu>Layout Guide, etc). There weren't any columns or rows. I even tried inserting column and row gridlines and then removing them per the help instructions, no dice. I've spent the last 4 hours trying to accomplish this and I'm ready to pull my hair out. Anyone have any other suggestions?

Here's a link to the website: www.madisoncivitanclub.com

Incidentally, the gridlines appears dark gray on my monitor but on my friend's monitor they're a much lighter color and he didn't notice them at first but they're definitely there (and I want them gone).

Wondering if there might be some html fragment that I can insert to make 'em disappear. Can you tell I'm getting desperate?

Thanks, in advance, for your response.

Those gridlines are from the background image being tiled. Make your page in a proper HTML/Visual Editor and it'll help immensely.

CSS Errors
HTML Errors 554 Errors, 1 warning

Those errors come from making pages in a non-standard web page editor. Publisher IS NOT a web page editor.

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. I never thought about the background being tiled. That explains it perfectly.

Whereas I realize that Publisher is not a web page editor, it served the purpose of getting the website up and running in less time that it would have taken me to figure out an HTML page editor. In any case, I am working with one now and attempting to learn HTML coding, scripts, etc. Hopefully, my next website will be created with a proper HTML/Visual Editor.

Again, thanks for your help.

I sincerely hope you stay away from Publisher as a web page editor. The problem is, that it inserts strictly Microsoft schema, which only Micro$oft products understand. That means your pages will seriously fall apart in other browsers.

Try KompoZer. It's a free Visual Editor which also allows editing in Code View once you learn HTML and CSS.
