Sorry if this has been asked before, I looked but did not find it.

I'm a Noob, and would like to post images that I, and some friends have taken, on my site. I do not make my living at photography, but I would hate to have the images spread all over the web without at least getting credit for them. And I'd sure hate to have any of my friend's images treated in the same way.

With that, what are some of the ways to deter people from simply copying the images? Keep in mind, I am but a simple programmer.

Thanks in advance.

Basically, once an image is viewed in a viewer's browser, that image is on their computer. Usually in a temp folder, but the images can be found if you know where to look.

There is a no-right-click JavaScript available. Of course, that can be bypassed by turning off JS in the browser until the pictures wanted are captured.

That brings up the screen capture from either using PrtScr key or installing the free screen capture software available.

There are batch editors that will mark all your photos for you in various way with whatever text you wish.

Another little trick is using a 1 pixel square transparent image and sizing over the front of every image to keep the general public from getting the image directly.

It really boils down to the fact that you can't protect your images very easily.
