I have noticed that my website does not display correctly in Internet Explorer 6 or earlier browsers. Is there a way to use JavaScript to detect their browser, and depending on the results, either take them to a warning page telling them that they need to upgrade, or just go directly to the site?

Or am I in the wrong section?

There are browser sniffer scripts which can use the right CSS for the browser in question. Best thing is to use a proper doctype, code both syntactically and semantically and validate, validate, validae until you are happy with coding.

Just think, if everyone coded their sites to the standards recommended, there would be no need for browser developers to keep trying to make browsers backward compatible with old coding. Then they could set up developing a highly compliant browser that all would be happy with.
