I recently updated to IE 8 and discovered that the JS I use on a web site will no longer open a new window. For example:

http://www.polyhedronlearning.com/cengage/lab_5.html

Click "Hands-On" to open the Shockwave in its own window.

It's worked fine in all Mac and Windows browsers until now. It's now giving me the message:

Line 18
Error: object expected

It looks like line 18 is:

if (parseInt(navigator.appVersion) >= 4) win.window.focus();

I know very little about IE or Windows. Could this have something to do with JS being disabled or some other security setting?

Also, I just noticed that if you click "Video" on that same page and then click the video link, that window opens without error. And it's the same code. Although it did tell me a plug-in was disabled. Good thing I knew it meant QuickTime. I don't know how this got disabled, as I didn't change anything.
