I have downloaded a .flv video and want to put it on my site. here's the code currently used and the video starts automatically when the page is opened. I do NOT want it to start until the play button is clicked. What to do?

Do you have the actual media file or that page that has the media code to play the video?

Yes, I do have the actual media file .flv that I downloaded using google download helper and converter.
I have now found an answer, going a bit of a different direction. A freebie, Flowplayer, flowerplayer.org,has the necessary code to play the video as I want with controls. There needed to be a "player" that I uploaded to my site.
Thanks for your help.

You're welcome. That was what I was going to suggest on the media code. I just needed to find out whether you had the actual media file or not. The media code allows you to set a lot of parameters which include whether media file starts on page load and whether controls are visible or not.

Thanks for letting us know you solved your problem. Just in case someone was following this topic, would you be able to post the media code for the forum members? Thank you.

Oops, it should have been flowplayer.org - not flower. It's free to download and I'm not exactly sure which code is which. Probably best if you just go there and download, or I think perhaps just the source code may be available. I'm not a programmer.

That's ok. I know how to code the media code for different media files. Will bookmark it though in case someone else may want to use it. Thanks. Have a good weekend.
