How do some websites retain their www.WEBNAME.com address in the address bar on the browser no matter where you navigate in the website? What is their trick??
On my website, everytime people click on a new link it shows the new
address with the .html or .htm file names and I don't like it.
Any help would be much appreciated!!!
thank you! |

Personally I don't recommend doing what you are asking. Very few professional websites do it, it's not standard, and visitors have a hard time bookmarking any particular page on your site.
But if you still insist on it, it's very simple to do. Just frame your whole site within a frame on the index page. First, rename your index page to something else, then create a new index page that frames that page. You can see how to create a frame with the tutorial starting on page: http://www.htmlcodetutorial.com/frames/frames_famsupp_5.html .
Just remember, you will have just one frame, and that frame will have 100% for the rows and columns setting and 0 for the frameborder, framespacing, and border setting. |
