I was wondering if there was a way to hide the url in the title bar of a popup window opened using "window.open". The url is not present when i include a location bar in the popup window, but when i remove the location bar the url suddenly appears in the title bar.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Ian

Define the Title in the page that is loaded.

The title is defined in the popup window but the url is still placed infront of the title in the title bar of the popup window.

Here is a link to an example:

Any other ideas?

I am using MSIE 6.0 and Firefox 1.0.2 running on Windows XP SP 2.

On my friends computer running Mac OS 10.3.8 it works fine too...how strange.

Any ideas?

Jumped into this topic since I too was looking for the answer. Did some more 'googling', and found (unfortunately...) an explanation in comp.lang.javascript.
