| I want to take an image and make it a sidebar running down the left side of the page instead of making it a background image - so, instead of tiling the image across the background, I want it to have it tiled and running down the left side of the page. Is this possible? |

If it is a background imahe in a div or something - with the help of CSS, you can make it repeat vertically or horizontally.
But it sounds like you might just want to make the image repeat itself by placing it in the HTML page?

Basically, yeah.
This is what my page looks like now: http://www.wam.umd.edu/~ldiokno/home.html
What I want to do is have that image run down the left side of the page -- is that possible? |

You can use a divide and make it float on the rleft. And then use CSS to have the background repeat horizontally or just use the appropriate widht and not even worry about how the back ground repeats
