Well you will need an SSL cert, and electronic payment gateway (LinkPoint, Verisign's Payflow, Authorizenet.com) with a merchant account. For that it depends on what country you are in.

You can use an electronic payment gateway like Verisign's Payflow, LinkPoint, or Authorizenet.com with a merchant account if you intend on doing more than $1,000 a month in business.
You will need an SSL cert - which you can talk to your hosting company about. if you can generate your own CSR, you can get your SSL cert from any of the companies that sell them.
If you think you will do less, Paypal might be a better choice.
