I have been a web designer parttime since 2001, having just a few clients that keep me busy from time to time. So I just do it in the evenings after work, learning new techniques as I go along. I have an AAS in Graphic Design which contained some Web design instruction, but not really any hard core scripting/programming.
I am basically going by a teachers suggested rates for designing sites. Are there any resources, or suggested price points for various types of sites. And maybe how to go about explaining those prices to a prospective client.
I have done a catalog site for one furniture company. They update each market in Spring and FAll.
I Am currently working on an ecommerce site for another furniture company. My first ecommerce site. (Any tips/suggestions on ecommerce apps?)
Smaller sites too.
Thank you in advance for the advice... |

They will need an SSL, a dedicated IP address (for the SSL), a merchant account, and an electronic payment gateway as well. The processing is somewhat very difficult at times and and I would recommend you possibly partnering with a company. This way, they explain everything to your customer and then you get a split in the profits.

My host is setting up the account part of the process.
I am setting up the information part, the front end part.
My host has sent a couple of ecommerce design apps, info.
Any app you guys are familiar with that is user friendly.
