I am currently the head of the school website building page. Our current webpage has not been updated in about 6 years. You can see how crappy it is [url]http://www.berkeley.k12.sc.us/high/chs/CHS.htm [/url]those who view it beware you just might puke. It was built through DW and converted from Mircosoft publisher. I have been having problems with frames, and links. We are wanting to make a 4 frame webpage.
This is an atempt to draw it out due to that we have not yet created the frame set for the page.

Sorry the post wouldnt let me insert empty space so i filled it with "="'s lol.

We are wanting the left link to stay put when clicked and the right to go away or disapear to a fully display the page. But the left links should change on a few select pages. The top marquee should also change on every page. like for example you click on the link to the Guidence office. It would then remove the right frame to display the full guidence page the left frame would change to more links within the guidance page. but the top mascot pic would stay. and the marquee would display something like "Welcome to the guidence department" we are using raw html for this and only i even know anything about html. We will be giving this to the district who will upload it to the page through DW. We currently have what we need for the frames but what i need it the ability to change mulitpul frames at once.

So what i need is help with the example i have given.
Guidence is on the right side of the page. and i need to temporialy get rid of the right frame and change the top frame. How would i go about doing this? I am needing this fixed in the next couple weeks. TY in advance to anyone and any help you can provide.

I'll volunteer my time to build a DW template and the initial pages, but, then, you should bring this up before the PTA and ask for a volunteer who will build the website -- you should provide the content and the description of what you want.

Administrate this project, because what you're asking for is going to make the project difficult on everyone involved. Get a volunteer who knows what they're doing.

Well we already have spoken with the PTA, Principal, and such. We have no one in this school that knows HTML, or anything about the webpage. But we do have the option to have a DW temp. created for us. We so far have held this option in reserve. I and my head of the website comitte have created design and i have already created the main of the body, index. and the marquees, and the links. But the things i have mentioned about i already know that i am in need of JavaScript. So i am in need of some ideas With the Java. I know a very small and limited amount about JS. HTML i do know quite well, and i am expanding my knowledge of CSS at the time. I am a self taught student on these subjects. So my time is limited.

I don't think you'll need JavaScript for frames (and I still think frames is going to be more complicated than flat pages).

You have a frameset page for your home page, and then the page that loads into the main content frame is also a frameset -- two frames, the left for the content, and the right for the links.

Make sense?

If you try something simple first, you can get the information out there and then you can progress as you see fit. Another website maker that is free is joomla.
