I would like to use the hidden div to hide text thst was in the meta tags and locate that same text on the page just to make shure the search engines do not by pass my web page becaise of the search engine does not find the text contained in the meta tags on the body of the web page - below is my hidden div but how do i shrink the text contain in my hinden div - by the way i did change the color to white so you can not see the text on the page - but i now have a big blaink spot on the web page - the question is two fold did i do the hidden div correctly and second is how do i change the text in my hidden div to very small so that the big spot is very small line. And more important what i am doing will it still work in the search engniess if not why has this the case?

Here is my hidden div

<!--- HERE IS THE DIVISION I WANT TO HIDE --->

<div id="metatagsspecial" class="hidden">
<p class="style5"> Masonic, Masonic Lodge, Masonic Lodge Massachusetts, Masonic Web Site, Burning Taper Masonic Web Site, Burning Taper, Masonic Open Events, Masonic Blue Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons, Masons of Massachusetts, Grand Lodge of Massachusetts, AF & AM, Suffolk, Middlesex, Essex, North Shore, North Eastern Massachusetts, Scottish Rite, York Rite, Shrine, King Solomon’s </p>
</div>

what i am try to do is get the text as small as posiable and have the search engines pick it up but not but i do not also want a ig gap of white blank space because the text has been made the same clor is the backgorund so someone looking at the site will not see it.

Mybee you have better way to make shure the search engines do index the page - I do not want the spyders to skip my web page.

Well hiding text won't work... It might for a little while but if someone reports you

Hidden Text Revisited and Hidden Text should change your mind.

If you want search engines to see it, the public should see it. Google, Yahoo, and MSN have reporting procedures in place as well and if your site gets reported for hiding text, it might take months or years to get your domain listed again.

Site Maps will help you get listed in the search engines as well.

I just want to make shure that i do get listed - so it is not the way - then i in fact only want the forint page to be indexed on teh web site - the only other way is to try to make shure that every word in the meta tags is somewhere on the page-if that is the way to do it - do you have any other ideas that help on doing what i am trying to do.

If fact i was only going to do the hideing of the text in a hidden div for a short period of time while i build the web site and work on clean up the language on the web page or the web pages i want to get indexed. But guess you are right that is a poor way to go about it - because it would be a hard to prove my real intent if found out.

So beside makeing shure that all text is located on the web page what more can and do i have to do I GUESS IS THE REAL QUESTION? looking for good soild ideas that work and appoved by the search engines.

THANKS

If you mean the index page you can use some of the meta tags like nofollow so that the other hyperlinks are not indexed and then use the noindex meta tag so those other pages are not index by search engines

Ok I mis-read the post - I read that you wanted only the front page listed. Just use the recommendations on the SEO Blog and use XML sitemaps.

Don't use hidden text.
