Disaplaying pages with dynamically using IDs

Hi everyone!

I'm very new to web design& dev, and I would like to know how I can display pages using IDS. I want to do something like in the following url:
http://www.burundirealite.org/news.cfm?LANG=F

I need to know how to use a querystring and display a page by giving the page ID, without having to add the .htm, aspx,php...extensions. I know it takes a data base and some server side scripting . Now can someone give a exemple using php & mysql technologies?

In order to do this without using the .php extension, etc, you may want to use mod_rewrite.
