# of searches for a given word/phrase

Is there a way to find out an estimate of how many times a given word/phrase has been searched in any given search engine?

ex. I want to know how many time new port restaurants has been searched

I doubt search engines would give out this information at all. Of course if anyone DOES know where you can find it...I can think of a few people who would like to know!

EDIT: I was kind of wrong.
Overture used to have a Search Term Suggestion Tool at http://investory.overture.com/ which is where some people got a load of stats from, including people who provide paid-for search engine marketing information

This service doesn't appear to exist anymore though as they were swallowed by Yahoo.
