Iframe not pulling data from parent frame

I have embedded a Google Maps script into an iframe on a testing server.

I need to be able to use the url (location.href) of the parent frame, so I can split off the variable and find the zip.

Anyway, the issue is anytime I refer to the "parent" window I do NOT get any values.

I set up a simple ALERT button (Confirmation Alert) The Alert works fine if I reference anything in the local frame, but if I try to find the parent url, it does nothing.

You can see what I have tried... even trying to reference a TAG in the parent body is blank.
