table data widths

I have a table where the left colomn contains variaty number of same size pictures, and a column on the right with text. I want the pictures to take up as much room as they need, but not any more.

Basically the final out I looking for is the text to occupy all the left over space from the maximan picture width from a column. In order to let the pictures grow horizontally first filling up the space before going to next line I put that cell width to 100%, otherwise it grows vertically before fill up horizontally. This causes the pictures column to occupy extra space if there are not enough pictures and the text is a long ways away from the pictures.

Thanks for any help, and if there is some other way of doing what I want that is useful also.

Does anyone have any ideas? There must be some kind of simple way to do this, any help?
