This page has been driving me crazy for some time.. to make things easier for everyone, I have a version of it posted online you can all take a look at.

I suddenly realized that the latest version of my code actually loads up properly the very first time in Internet Explorer. After that, there are problems with the width (until the cache is cleared). In Firefox, the reverse happens, i.e. the page comes in all screwed up the first time it loads, and then is fine every time after!

To see what I'm talking about, you can take a look at

I'm guessing this is something to do with the order in which the data is loaded, so that once the information is all cached, it stops functioning in IE, and starts functioning in FF... can anyone confirm whether I'm on the right track with that, or how to fix it if I am?

Also, I'm thinking the problem may not result from a Javascript specific error. I tried just using the html table, which yields the same results without the ratio correction. However, I would have hoped that the variables defined within Javascript would have fixed this problem, which they apparently don't.

Most significantly, it seems that the width attribute just plain doesn't work the way it's meant to in IE, which I find particularly odd. As for Firefox, I am guessing if I can just get it to load all of the correct information ahead of time, the page should come up correctly.

Incidentally, I've had some people say that they can't see the problem.

"Reload" doesn't cause a problem, while sometimes closing and reopening the browser does.

To see the functionality break down, please look at

click on "LINK", and then "Go Back" from the new page.

Seems to work fine.

Have you tested on different OS, Browser, Browser versions?
