html href code question

I'm trying to use html (via MS publisher 98 and notepad) to create a photo tour of my campus. I don't know too much about html but I've been opening up the various pages and changing the hyperlinks to access the right pages (href="..."). I can do the ones that require another page in the same folder or in a sub folder (href="tour4/page7.html"). But I can't make it hyperlink to a page that is in a directory above it. (ex. I want c:/tour/tour4/page7.html to hyperlink to c:/tour/page8.html) Quite frankly, I don't know the code so if someone could just tell me how to communicate type of link, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Try this:

<a href="../tour4/page7.html">

The two periods (..) make it go up one level.

Sometimes this ( message before this) doen`t work at all, so you have to write a absolute path of the file.
