The most important thing about rankings nowadays is how many sites link back to your site and how many of those sites are relevant to the content on your site.

There are a lot of SEO sites claiming to guarantee you a top 10 ranking.
They do that by placing a load of text content with keywords added. To do this add a keyword 6 to 8 times in a 450 word piece of text. Do this on a number of articles (10 to 15) and when spiders visit your site they count the keywords and see that your site content is relevant to your metatags.

Google and the gang however worked out that companies were doing this and so work more on link backs now and hardly any search engines worry about metatags.

The only exception to Gary's 'metatags' info is Yahoo - they use the keywords rather a lot.

Another thing that helps is legitimate googlebombing - instead of saying "my brilliant article on xxx is here". Try "xxx is what you want to read". Google definitely take note of the link text; I suspect that msn do too. Smile

There are no Search Engine Optimization secrets -- just ranking and placement methodologies to follow in order to beat your competition in obtaining a high ranking for desired search keywords. SEO training, content and link services are just one small part. This site targets improving search engine rankings by using a "follow the leader" approach to keyword selection and page wording. Once you know what keywords and search engine marketing services (not spam) worked for the "leaders", you can "beat the leader" and do even better! Proper Search Engine Optimization requires that you beat your competition, so knowing the keywords and criterion used by your competition is the most important first step. It will become obvious that good ranking excludes keyword spamming the search engine, and that with the careful selection of your keywords that you will fare well for a little effort. The website http://www.seoservicesgroup.com/index.htm offers help, hints, and tips for improving search engine results via a specific search engine keywords placement methodology.

Back in 2004 optimized urls were hottest thing selling on our planet.

During the last few years , google and other search engines are becoming aware of these tactics, and they simply do not give away rankings based on optimized url's

You will have to follow the same tedious ways of building up rankings, and your optimized url will certainly help you.

Use a combination of max 2-3 words, and not more than that Cool
