2 Questions:

1 - I have registered my website: http://www.africanbreeze.co.za on a top site listing, this website requires to add html code to every page, logic tells me that sites already in the top 10 for instance will generate more traffic because of their top 10 listing and visibility on the front page and thus have an advantage and will stay in the top listings, or will hits/clicks from the topsite page be excluded in a count like this? Is this type of site listing bad for your website and will it have an affect on search results?

2 - With all the hype around Web 2 will you be able to drive more traffic to your website, using web 2 content? Or is all the hype for nothing?
(Any good sites on web2 topics will be appreciated)

Thanx

Will are these links referring to other sites? Chances are people will click on these links and leave your site. Is that what you want? It might be good for SEO - more incoming links, but I would look at it as trying to keep people on the site

Web 2 content?

Google for Web 2.0, in with the new and out with old.

Top100 sites aren't link farms, there's only one link to your site so it's not damaging at all.

Thank you for the reply's and links, Thanks Corey, I haven’t thought about it this way, it might not be a good idea to have the link on every page , especially with the chance that visitors might leave your page using the links, and especially where it will link to businesses in the same category and then the risk of losing business to your competitors.

To be honest I feel now that this type of links will have no value to my site since it wont be focused on my target market. But i guess there is no such thing as bad traffic?

I have always been under the impression that web 2 are more bandwidth hungry ( a problem if you live in a bandwidth restricted country ) , but i see that this is true only in some instances where movies, audio etc will be streamed.

Thank you.
