Editing MP3's

I'm working on a web site for a local AZ band. They want to have about 10 to 12 music demos for people to hear before they purchase one of there CD's Embedding a music player with a multiple playlist was easy to setup. They don’t want any complete songs used on the site. What I need help with is editing songs for length so only about 50% of the song will play. I have both MP3 and WMA format. I need a editor that is east to use and wont cause a lot of loss in music quality. Anyone have a suggestion??
