Need Help Editing Template

Greetings,

I have downloaded a few free web templates but I am having trouble with the index.html file after I re-save it.

Upon downloading the template files, I immediately launch the index.html file in a browser. I view the page source and copy all the HTML coding into a text document. After making a few subtle changes (just the title for instance, not even code changes) and re-saving the file as index.html, it won't properly launch in the browser. Instead of interpreting the HTML code, the browser is simply publishing the HTML code as if it was launched in a text editor.

What am I doing wrong?

Instead of copying the source code into an editor, why not just open the original with your editor, make changes and save. More that likely if your using notepad you are saving incorrectly and it ends up as a text file with an html extension. You should save as All files selected instead of the default *.txt
