I have a code a got off the Internet (RSS2HTML) that lets me check RSS feeds and write them into html using ASP on my Intranet. Is there any way, in ASP, a could check for an active internet connection before carrying this code out? This would then let the users of my intranet know why the page is failing due to no net connection.

Cheers

I did some searching and found

Check Internet connection with VB.Net

Test Internet Connection

Example of the HTTPBrowserCapabilities component

Is an Internet Connection Available

InternetCheckConnectionW

Hopefully one of those links will work to your advantage and help you out.

You can use XMLHTTP to connect to a Remote webpage. It will return a status code.

If it is 200 then it connected ok. Otherwsie you know that you cound't connect and you can output an error.
