Drop Down Box question

I'd like to create a script that will place an image (jpg) on part of my website when a drop down box choice is selected. I've been reading a Java book and Expression Web for Dummies but it does not address this particular request. I've seen it done on another website and would like to place it on mine.

I hope I provided enough information to get an idea what I'd like to create. Please let me know if you have any questions.
