Tables: Image with onmouserover needs text.

complete noob at HTML. I bought my book so I could study HTML and instead reference it. I have a template and I would like the buttons to say something. I have look at all the 'Text over Image' help and it all says the image is to be in a background. The problem I have is the button has an onmouseover command and then an <img></img> portion in the <td> so all my text goes to the right or the left of the image.

You can either edit the existing images and put text on them with a graphics editor, or redo the html and do a list using background images. My recommendation is, do the list.

I am nearly HTML illiterate. I already changed the images. I will look into making the list though. Thanks for the advice. I think the list is what I want too.
