Table color code that conforms with W3C

I know that tables are getting obsolete, but I have a simple website design and am trying to upgrade all the code to conform with W3C validation. The only error I get is that bordercolor for a table is not an attribute. I learned how to make 4 sided borders conform, but how do you make an entire table border with all the inner lines the same color? I like my top list of names without lines, but the bottom table does not look good without the lines. If I leave off the color, it's just white and blah. This is my code for the whole page. I hope this is how it's supposed to be posted.

Thank you very much! Does that have to be stated in every <td> or once at the beginning somehow? I am very good at copying code and inserting my own info, but not so good at experimenting on my own.

You can create a <table> and <td> class in your styles

Not sure why my replies are not posting but I'll try it again. I am logged in...

Thanks again very much. It seems either way that something needs to be put inside each <td>. Why they don't just recognize "bordercolor" as a table attribute is beyond me. It's so much simpler and it does already work so it seems pretty silly. But at least now I am conforming to W3C validation and will continue to update my years old website. Never had any DOC TYPE or charset before, or any alt= with images let alone width and height, but it always works with IE.

Not using a DOCTYPE will throw IE into quirks mode. The alt attribute is required for accessibility and should be used.

However, the code I provided above I uploaded to this page and I saw two different borders. Did you not want double borders?
