Hello to all,
I'm having a terrible time trying to geet my table coding correct. I was wondering if someone could tell me what I'm doing wrong here. I have the whole page as I would like it to look but I want to put a link at the bottom of the page saying "Home" that vistors can clik on to go back to the home page. For some reason when I add the link for "Home" at the bottom of the page it ends up showing up at the top of the page.
Here's the link to the page so you can see what is happening:
"http://www.angelfire.com/sk2/stparanormal/Avideosample.html"

Here's is my coding for that page:

You really have a lot of problems with your code.

Think of this - whatever you open, you better close it.

Now having said that, start at
Code:
<body><BODY BACKGROUND="moon.jpg" BGPROPERTIES="fixed"

text="#99ccff" link="#99ccff" alink="#99ccff" vlink="#99ccff">
<basefont size="3">

<BGSOUND SRC=""
loop="infinite">
<BGSOUND SRC="" LOOP=3>
You have two opening <body> tags. And you have bgsound listed twice as well.

You have
Code:
<table width="60%" border="0" align="left" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="2">
which is somewhat OK (and you are attempting to float his left), but then you have
Code:
<table width="60%" border="0" align="right" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="2">
and you seem to want this on the same "level" as the other table? If so, 60 and 60 is 120 - so you are wanting the tables to be wider than the user's browser?

You have the <li> tag for some reason, but you don't have the <ul> or <ol> to help the browser know if it is an ordered or unordered list.

Take a look at
Code:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"
   "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
<html>
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252" />
<title>Untitled 2</title>
<style type="text/css">
table
{
   border-collapse:collapse
}

</style>
</head>

<body>

<table style="width: 100%; text-align:center">
   <tr>
      <td>South Texas Paranormal Society<br>Video Gallery
      <hr style="color: #99CCFF; width: 475px">
      </td>
   </tr>
</table>

<table style="width: 100%">
   <tr>
      <td style="width: 50%"><a href="http://www.southtexasparanormalsociety.com/videos/doughouse02032008.wmv">
<img src="http://www.southtexasparanormalsociety.com/videoimages/dougvideopic.jpg" border="0" width="170" height="130"></a><br>
San Patricio, Texas &raquo;<br>Undisclosed Historical Home, San Patricio, Texas.<br>Ectoplasm energy to right top of door at end of hallway</td>
      <td style="width: 50%">
      <a href="http://www.southtexasparanormalsociety.com/videos/sm20022.wmv">
<img src="http://www.southtexasparanormalsociety.com/videoimages/smbpic.jpg" border="0" width="170" height="130"></a><br>

Corpus Christi, Texas &raquo;<br>Video captured at an undisclosed location in<br>Corpus Christi, Texas. S.T.P.S. found this location to be<br>extremely active on all 8 investigations.
      </td>
   </tr>
</table>

<table style="width: 100%">
   <tr>
      <td>Home</td>
   </tr>
</table>

</body>

</html>
This is by no means great coding, but it is a bit cleaner than before. You might consider starting with this or at least take a look at it to see how it uses the tables.

Glad it all worked out.

I never was one too much for writing code - I did most everything through Microsoft FrontPage and now Expression Web. It will help you a lot with the basics. They have a free 60-day free trial which you will probably find useful.
