window media player 9

I make pages for fun using html. On the pages that have a music drop down menu has developed a problem.
After I upgraded window media player from version 7 to version 9 I now have a BLACK SQUARE below the player list. Will get bigger after you refresh a few times.

I went back to version 7 and black square was gone.
I have tried adding version 9 to:
CODEBASE="http://activex.microsoft.com/activex/controls/mplayer/en/nsmp2inf.cab#Version=6,4,7,9,1112"
does not help Have tried leaving off 1112 no change, have tried everything i can think of.
