How do you read a txt file and display contents

Hello

When my HTML file is loaded into a browser I want it to read a simple text file and display the contents of this in the browser.

Can this be done? If so how?

It is possible to display a stardard text file in a browser by loading it, but if you want it in your page then you would need to include it.

You could do this with frames, but you will have no formatting.

Your best best would be to use server-side scripting to read the contents of the file then display them.

You can do this with PHP or ASP
