About 4 years ago, I bout a "reseller hosting account" off ebay with promises to make thousands of dollars a month.
Foolish me.
However, back then the market wasnt as saturated as it is now. There are literally thousands of hosting resellers out there promising high quality services, and unlimited space for pennies a day. It will never work. Either the makeshift hosting company will close down in a month and leave any customers they have accumulated with an empty bag, or the service they will offer will be so low quality, that their customers will up and leave them within the month.
Anyone thinking about going about a business in this fashion needs to save their money. If you cannot start out purchasing your own server, you most likely will not make it as a long-term hosting provider.
Over the years, I've learned my lesson. I put forth the money to purchase a server, paid for marketing, and hired help as needed. I have spent probably around $10,000 just to get where I am today.
Favhost has succeeded where many companies wont. You simply cannot expect a "get rich for pennies a day" scheme to work.
After over 4 years in the business, I think the reputation of my company speaks wonders. |

At some time or another, most of us in the workforce have dreamed of having the Freedom To Work From Home. Spending time with the family, wanting to avoid the drudgery of the daily drive to and from the office or just being able to structure your own hours are just a few of the reasons many of us would like to set up our own home based business.
Investigating your options, you'll most likely come across a myriad of advertisements promoting the ideal home-based business opportunity. These ads make it all sound so simple; you'd wonder why anyone would even bother having a "regular" job!
Job security is becoming harder and harder to obtain, with layoffs and corporate collapses creating constant uncertainty and instability for the average worker. In these times of economic downturn it is paramount that we plan for our financial wellbeing should we find ourselves out of work.
According to recently published statistics, more than 27 million Americans work from home. In Australia, the figure is over 1 million (nearly 5% of the population!) and accounts for more than 10% of the overall workforce. More than three quarters of those operating a home based business are aged over 35.
Having worked for a major financial institution for 17 years, and now having the freedom to work from home, I know the flexibility, independence and other benefits that a home based business can bring. Being your own boss, setting your own work hours, being able to spend time with the kids and having the ability to take a vacation whenever you like is certainly a very appealing scenario.
