I just stumbled on this thread about different languages used for web design and programming:

I almost missed it because it was hidden away in the Perl section, where I never look as I'm nowhere near up to that. I found this discussion to be a really helpful overview, and a similar summary would be really useful in the FAQ section. (I'm sure something of that nature must already exist somewhere, so even a link to a similar summary in the FAQ wouldn't go astray.)
