Hi all,

I have an account with GoDaddy and I develop my ASP pages in DreamWeaver MX 2004. On my local Host the pages work fine but uploading them to GoDaddy and they plain blank refuse to work, this is due to the way GoDaddy connects to the Access DB I have on their site. I have tried this past week to find a way around this either by code or placing files in various folders but all in vain. Searching in forums such as this one i've discovered this is a problem that goes back years and does'nt look like it will be easily resolved soon. Contacting GoDaddy is a fruitless exercise !

So, what I am looking for now is an app similar to DreamWeaver that will help me create my ASP pages but will also work on GoDaddy.

Does such a thing exist ?

Thanks in advance,

Mitch...

Have you tried to contact GoDaddy or look on their forums for some support? Most hosting companies will provide you some examples to help you - otherwise, consider looking for another hosting company.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

Yup, I have contacted GoDaddy and so have other people that want to use DreamWeaver as a dev tool but they get the same reply as I did, a link to a code exceprt of how to connect to the MDB. The code itself works fine but try importing that into DreamWeaver to edit and it won't work. I really dobn't want to have to keep switching to and from DW and Notepad, its too time consuming.
Chances are I will dump GoDaddy if I can't use a tool to develop ASP in that will work on GoDaddy but I want to find a hosting Co that will work iwth my DW ASP pages first.

Thanks again for your reply.

I am not too familiar with Dreamweaver, but impressed with them that they actually support ASP. Heck, Frontpage hardly supports ASP and most developers would not recommend a WYSIWYG editor for an ASP application. I always thought that most used some text application to help create ASP pages.
