In another forum, they said 'for your pictures/sales to be picked up by GOOGLE/FROOGLE you should use the form':
<a href="http://img.inkfrog.com/pix/KeepingBusy/004.jpg" alt="004">
(that way, anyone searching for 004 would find it on GOOGLE/FROOGLE)
I'm trying to incorporate this method into a template as:
<a href="{imageurl1}" alt="image1NAME">
<img src="{thumburl1_140}" hspace="4" vspace="4" border="0"></a>
but when I try to validate it, it says "The 'alt' attribute is not valid for the 'a' element."
Even though it is "not valid", the template still seems to work locally on my computer.
So, two questions:
1) Will the template still work with a "not valid" element in it?
and
2) Will GOOGLE/FROOGLE really pick it up, and if so, how long before it does? |

You might be thinking of title instead. Title is an attribute for the <a> tag.

| alt is a required attribute for XHTML images though, and is picked up by Google as far as I'm aware. |
