Recently I've been using a program called PHP designer to write all my codeing in. And Let me Say it is AMAZING! It helps you with the Syntax of HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, Pearl, and more, which is insanley helpful as I can't remeber all the differant comands and tags. It also highlights anything covered within comment tags, stopping you acidently making a whole page dissapear.

It also allows you to organize your files into projects, and make todo lists. The inbuilt FTP is spot on too.

Anyway I think it's the best thing since Notepad.

Where do you get it? Is it for the Mac or PC? I have an Apple computer and I'm using Taco HTML (I got it off macupdate.com). Taco HTML has two main features. Syntax Highlighting and a Preview button. It's perfect except I can't seem to get the PHP command-line scripting to work.

What do these programs do? Do they simplify the coding?

They don't simplify anything. WYSIWYG editors for server side code can be problematic at times. It is best to write your own code
