All of a sudden my e-mail links are not working properly. This is the code I'm using:

<a href="mailto:xxxatxxxxxx.com?subject=xxxxx">Contact webmaster</a>

When I click on the link "Contact webmaster", it is not pulling up a blank e-mail with the address or the subject line populated. It just pulls up my e-mail account home page.

I use hotmail for my e-mail. Does this have something to do with hotmail? The browser I'm using is IE7.

Thank you,
Brendy

Code:
<a href="mailto:crbryantatexample.com?subject=This is the subject">Contact Us</a>
Is the same code you posted and should usually work. It might not be working since it is a browser and not an email client. Have you tried using Windows Mail to see if it worked?

I haven't tried windows mail - I don't know how to change the prefrence on my computer from hotmail to Windows mail.

The thing is is it worked when I built the sites about a year ago and now it doesn't. Evil or Very Mad

If it worked back then, chances are it is because of Hotmail / the browser. I don't use Hotmail, but you can change your email client through Internet Explorer.

Go to Tools - Internet Options. In the Programs tab, choose Internet Programs. Now this will open a Set your Defaults programs. Locate the email client to choose for your default email client.

This might differ if you are using Windows XP, but you should get to the correct place.

I did that and it's still not working. Wahh!

This might be asking too much but if you go to my site and click on the contact webmaster link at the bottom of the page, what happens?

I'm sure you have tons of people to deal with so if this is too much to ask I'll understand.

Brendy,

I visited the site and clicked on the link and it's working fine for me and looks correct.
