HTML View versus Plain Text View for E-mails

I am trying to code a label using HTML code for a hyperlink within a body of an e-mail using a third party software (e.g. SAP ABAP). However when the e-mail is recieved, the recipient must ensure the e-mail default is set to "HTML" view. If the default is "Plain Text" view, then it appears with all the HTML code.

Can anyone make any comments on how to deal with "HTML" vs "Plain Text" views within E-mails?
