Dynamic Page: Image Gallery

I have a website that is similar to an image gallery. In one folder I have thumbnails of every picture then i have another folder with the full sized images. I want to have captions for each of the images once enlarged, i was wondering if the captions could be externalized in a text file then when a full sized image is requested, a new window would open and only the specific caption for that image would appear underneath it.

You would probably be best off using serverside scripting and probably a database as well.

It would be using Arrays, so I guess you could create your own.
